what model would you...

ok here is the deal...my first car was a 67 barracuda and since then ive had fords and chevys and foreigns and after having tried them all...im a mopar man...currently i have a 99 lexus which is reliable enough and gets me to and from the air force base (ya im in the military and i mention it so you know that im pretty much eternally broke lol)...but my dream car is and will always be a 71 cuda...however any 71 i could afford would be in bad shape and i would lack the funds to professionally fix it up...soo i would need to fix it up myself...and i lack the skills...so pretty much i need a mopar that would be relatively cheap to "learn" on (since i wouldnt want to learn on a 71 and screw it up)...i know this is a very opinion based question so explain why you picked whichever model....thanks

You could find a 71 cuda pretty cheap, unless you are looking for restored ones
i fell in love with the shapes of my car
the "squarness" really drew me in

I think if I were starting out and was on a limited budget, Id get into the 74-6 a-bodies , for first choice, they1re still plentifull and they hold to the 71-3 lines . you can still find them in great shape, and alot of v-8 models. If not then Id look at the 77-80 offerings, the aspen r/ts are decently priced, road runners. the magnums are sleek as well. they have their faults I know, but If you arent in a monetary position or decent with a wrench then Id look in those areas.

well by trade im an electrician and work on planes as such so i know my way around a meter as well as a wrench...i would say the areas i would want to learn most would be body work as well as interior and alot of the basic suspension/braking/exhaust (pretty much anything under the car that isnt an engine or transmission...
