What should I get?

Hey everyone, I am looking in buying my first muscle car and I don't want to spend too much. I'm looking at something less than $8,000. I know that at this price almost any car I get is going to need some work, but I was just wondering if there is any car that someone would recommend over all the others. Right now I found two cars that really interest me. A 1973 dodge charger and a 1972 dodge dart swinger. Right now I am leaning towards the Charger because me and my dad have always loved chargers and I have always wanted one. But I'm not sure if that car is a reliable and worthy car. I would love any suggestions.
Thanks.

welcome to the forum
in most cases a Dart or Duster will be the best Mopar for a budget and still be a good looking car. For the Chargers, Road Runners, GTX, R/T's
You will have to pay a lot more.

Welcome!

Both are worthy cars. Go with the one that you love.

When shopping around with a smaller budget, I'd look for projects that someone can't afford to finish or that lost interest in. You can usually get these for pretty cheap money. Make sure to ask for or at least see all receipts of what they claim have been done.

If you want a more complete car that you can drive right away and might be able to do some work on here and there, look for one with a slant 6 or even a 318. A lot of people see these cars as "cheap/inexpensive" cars and will let them go for a good price.
