Whats up? I'm new here.

I have one 81 d150 slant six 4 on the floor shortbed stepside, I'm about to acquire a 81 d150 longbed with the slant six and all the nice goodies (power brakes, power steering, and AC) that someone bought just for the bed. The whole truck is in much better shape than my stepside but it's an auto. I know the floor humps are different, and I'd have to cut holes in the firewall for the clutch linkage either way, so what's better in ya'lls minds? Shortbed conversion on the auto and swap the 4 speed and bed, or cab swap? This is never gonna be a show truck, just a nice toy. I do eventually plan to swap a hydraulic roller cam 408 stroker into it. I know the shorty stepside has the 10 bolt and I want the 12 bolt 9 ¼" rear end to swap as well, but currently unsure as what the long bed has and wont until I pick it up this weekend. Stay tuned for pics

Edit: I suppose i got so caught up thinking about swapping and shortening, i forgot about the third option, swap all the body panels and creature comfrots i want individually into the shortbed stepside. as well as the motor, because the slant six in there now burns oil and i'm not too keen on rebuilding it just to swap it a year down the road.

Yessir! I bought it because my dad has an 83 d150 custom royal I want to get back on the road for him, I thought it would be neat to go cruising with my father in similar trucks as I wasn't too close to him when I was younger.

This is my pickup. There are only 3 rust spots, the floor boards, and one spot where the rust hasn't gone all the way through above the passenger side of the windshield. She started and drove 5 1/2 hours home. Sorry for the long wait, ya'll, but here you go.

I ended up selling the "parts truck" to my uncle. After driving it 3 hours home, I realized that it drove like it was brand new and all it needed was a bed and a carb tune, so i couldn't bear bastardizing it. Pics of that to come probably this weekend.
