Young gun here...

Hi Everyone,

My name is Charlie and I am 16 from S.E. Pennsylvania. My Dad and I have some cars between us. We both have a 1977 Dodge M880 with a 6bt cummins powertrain and we have a 65 coronet 2dr sedan a990 clone project and a 1966 dart 270 wagon original 273 AC california car that is loaded.

I joined this forum because we are resurrecting the Dart. The poor car has terrible rust because it is a wagon and 80% of the panels are inaccessible from the back side. My dad restored it in 1995 and it was used as a daily driver and the quarters and roof line are suffering and since there is no aftermarket we opted for a new unibody. We got one from Dr Mopar last weekend that is also a 270 series. It is really solid for a wagon with only a pinhole spot in the left quarter and on the B pillar.

We want to do this right this time so we are thinking of alkaline (NOT ACID) dipping and then e coating for 100% metal coverage and preserving the body for good.

Here's the car at carlisle in 1998 before rust made its rounds.

Here is the Texas body we just got: Does need a dent puller on the right quarter.

SO... The main question is where can I get this done that isn't a long haul? We are do-it-yourself restoration guys but this is something that needs to be treated by a pro. The best would be someone who can do both in-house.

Suggestions? What would we be looking at for a price on this hulk?

Welcome!

I've heard about this but never really looked into it. I'm sure there are members here who would be able to give you the answers (or at least point you in the right direction) that you need.
