01 neon rt just dies yet runs like a champ...

I've looked a little thru this forum but haven't found the same problem i am having... I just picked up a 01 neon rt manual trans new motor and clutch...the car will run perfectly fine, start right up,rev perfectly but as soon as the car starts to roll it will die... Either trying to take off in gear or if you get out and push the car with nobody in it ..if the wheels start to turn it will die.. Any help is appreciated

Unhook the VSS and see what happens..It is the only link to the computer with movement... Check to make sure there are no wires rubbing on the axles causing a short to ground...Bill
