no go neon

hello
my daughter has a 2005 neon automatic with about 43000 miles on it
today she tried to drive and the car would not engage in forward or reverse - it would no even willingly roll on a hill.

I have searched a few things from in and out sensors to transmission clogs, cooler failures etc.

does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be - I do not have any experience with these auto cars

any help would be greatly appreciated

Sean

even in an automatic? I know of those being a problem in some of the manual transmissions I did not realize they would be/could be as much a problem with the automatic

Even if it is not bushings being it is an auto... The cable could be frozen / damaged Does the park lock work ??/ Does the shifter move ?

sorry forgot to respond to this - it ended up being a frozen brake - rear brake internals had frozen, took it apart lubed it up and for now, carry a mallet to tap it in case it does it again
