Breaking News: Team Mopar® Driver Johnson Beats 6.5-Second Barrier at Bradenton

Mopar® Dodge Avenger NHRA Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson broke the 6.5-second barrier during a test session today at Bradenton (Fla.) Motorsports Park. Johnson posted an eye-popping 6.498-second elapsed time (an unofficial record for a Pro Stock car) at 213.06 mph.
Johnson has been hard at work testing at Bradenton since Feb. 3, breaking in a new Mopar Dodge Avenger chassis in preparation for the season-opening NHRA Winternationals, scheduled for Feb. 24–27 in Pomona, Calif. According to the Team Mopar veteran, his Mopar HEMI®-powered Dodge has the potential to better its recent run.
"It was an okay run. It wasn’t perfect, but the new car is working awesome," said Johnson, who finished sixth in the 2010 Pro Stock standings. "We left probably a hundredth (of a second) on the table. This chassis seems to have a lot bigger window. I’m not sure we’ve got everything we want out of it yet."

I think under the same conditions yes... And under better conditions he will go faster than that..... But I'm also sure he's not the only one that will be in the 40's before this spring testing is done......
