1942 sadan
I just got a 1942 Dodge sadan and don't know much about it. I have tried to find some info on the car and have come up with very little. I buddy told me about his site and suggested I turn to y'all for help.
1st) What can you tell me abou this car?
2nd) I have a 6volt generator on it that doesn't work. Where do I start to look for a replacement?
3rd) The front ball joints are about to go. Where do I look for parts and how do I replace them?
After I get the generator and ball joints fixed I can drive the car around the rest of the summer before starting a restoration project.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
john

I pasted this and hope it helps, I had a 41 Dodge Bussiness coupe years back and all I can say is they used real steel on them. Mine had the 90 hp motor tied to it with a Fluid Drive Clutch (Semi-Auto)
This company may carry the parts you may need,

The generator may be rebuildable with (If still availible) NAPA parts. It may just need the brushes replaced. Also ask them about front end parts they are pretty good at finding obselete or odd parts Or you could change the electrical over to 12 volts. lots of work replacing wire, lights etc.
Any way heres some info.
