360 Engine Swap

360 Engine Swap
I have a'74 Challenger that was originally a 360 car, but currently has a 318 in it. I would like to put a 360 back in it and i found one on craigslist out of an '82 Dodge p/u. My question is, will the bell housing bolt pattern be the same from the 74 838 manual tranny to this 82 360?
Also will the engine mount locations be the same? Is there anything else I should know in order to make this swap happen? Thanks!

What I can remember, is that the left side 340/ 360 engine mounts are different than 318, some folks use the 318 brackets and shim washers on one bolt. I'm not sure what you face going the other way
Remember that (until the later EFI magnums) that 273/318/340's CAN be internally balanced, but 360s are EXTERNALLY balanced, and need the proper matching balancer/ converter or flywheel

You can get a balanced flex plate from summit racing. and still use the 318 trans in your car. just use the motormounts off the 318 as well. the gap isnt that much one washer will cover it on the different mount. the oil pan is different for teh 360, the rear main journal is larger, so the oil pan is specific to the 360. and then a car and pickup pan is styled different o yo ull need 1 for the car.the bolt patterns the same from your 4 speed to the trk, motor. all small block mopes have the same bell pattern.
