58 plymouth 318 poly distributor firing order
NEWBIE be nice
im just purchased a 58 plymouth custom surburban that has been sitting in a garage since 1965.
Im trying to get this running.
I imaging the black dot refering to the distributor in the diagram below is to the right of the clip?
thats 1 and the distibutor should be pointing there at TDC.
ok now going clockwise on the distiributor cap what comes after 1 does it go 18436572? run me around in the circle.
ok now, when do you set the gap in the points.and whats the points gap setting? .014?
I can time motorcycles with points but new to cars, im a quick learner though.

firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 point gap is .015~.018
to set the point pop the cap, theres a small tab on the points that runs on the cam of the dist' there are 8 high points thats where you want that tab to be, (any one) the points should be open, then stick your fealer gauge in and set the points, with a screw driver,
