A-727 Front Seal
#2
Which seal are you talkin about? There are two up front. The large seal that goes around the front pump and the smaller seal that installs where the torque converter slips in. Assuming you're referring to the smaller one, just get a fairly large flat blade screwdriver and pry it out. Spray it clean with some brake cleaner. It won't hurt a thing as it evaporates completely. Then coat the new seal's outer housing with a thin coat of silicone and tap it in with a small ball peen.

No. If the seal housing has no flange, simply tap it in until the outside of the housing is flush with the front pump. If it has a flange, just tap it in until the flange bottoms against the front pump. You may run into either design of seal. Be careful removing the old seal. I have seen people drive a screwdriver straight into the outer seal housing and right into the front pump where the seal bottoms and gouge a hole into the front pump and ruin it. This is why you pry the seal out by sticking the screwdriver inside the seal and prying it right out. It will come right out.
