Engine Bogs and wont stay running
Ok I am officially stumped i have a 66 dodge monaco with a 318 it bogs when i hit the gas and as of yesterday it wont run for longer than 5 mins. So heres the list of things ive done. new push rods, new head gaskets and intake gaskets, rebuilt carb twice, rebuild distributer, new coil and wires and plugs, new water pump, timing checked.
tomorrow i will readjust air and fuel screws by screwing them in and pulling them out 2.5 turns each than hooking up vacuum guage and adjusting till i get best vacuum reset timing and check if all valves are opening. but im so lost on what it could be any suggestions will be amazing im trying to get it goin good for mopar fest on the 15th.

http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/186.cfm Info on how to understand what your vacuum gauge tells you. For the bog, have you INSURED that the accelerator pump begins its stroke as soon as the throttle begins to move? There is the bench setting for a rebuild, but it can require further adjustment when the linkage is set-up at idle on the car.

brand new and just did spark plugs i believe the no run is a air/fuel issue and im not good enough to set it i dont know the stock setting on the screws it will run now, on idlr no problem when i put a load on the motor it will run than die but start right away and the bog is still there been there since i got the car. i believe i might have the mixture correct but screwed in to much and not enough of it will get into the motor i will take our and clean the fuel pump tomorrow

sounds almost like the problem i was having with my '67 sport fury. would run for a bit then choke out like it wasnt gettin any gas.
finally after replacing all the usual suspects....fuel filter, cap/rotor/points, plugs/wires, setting the timing ect ect....i went to the fuel pump. and oh boy what a surprise i got...lol. i took off the old fuel pump and i think i shook/pounded out close to a quarter cup of rust particles out of the pump. so...now i have replaced the fuel lines and hoses...and have a new sending unit and am waiting impatiently for my local radiator shop to boil out my gas tank and line it for me...hopefully it will be done friday.
anyhow...dont know if you could have the same problem but u did say something about the tank...so u may wanna pull your fuel pump and make sure it isnt clogged with crap.
also...my fuel filter didnt show any signs of the crap in the pump..think it was all gettin clogged in the pump before it made it to the fuel filter.
