Initial start up

Hey all,

So I have finally finished putting my 383 back together with the new cam, heads/valves/springs, headers, oil pan and pickup and timing set.

Now I have filled up with xp4 oil with lots of zinc, I have coolant with no thermostat and I am at around 30* before tdc on compression stroke. Are there any suggestions you can make for startup other than keeping at 2000 rpm for 30 minutes?

If I should hear anything weird or perish the thought see oil leaking or something will shutting it down more than likely cause cam failure? Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Gary
