Thumbs down Lose tilt steering colume 88 plymouth van

The pivot point on the column is loose. I have taken off the steering wheel to hopefully access the torx studs that need to be tightend. I could see one of the 4 and that wasn't straight "on". My Haynes doesn't go into any detail with that as its not an normal issue. I leary of removing the t/signal, dimmer switch stuff out as I am unaware what missalignment, spring loaded issues I might encounter. I have rebuilt engines ,replaced clutches, brakes so I have some "wrenching" experience. Does anyone have a link to detail how to tackle this? Or I found a used column used $85 to my door. So encourgement would be helpful!

the $85 isn't too bad depending on the condition and would be easier than what you are doing now.

I've done a couple of these and the only manual that is useful is the factory service manual..... if you can find one. I have been lucky and just installed things the way I took them apart and everything worked fine after.
