Magnum 500 wheel refurb.

I've been busy on the old Belvedere lately. Wanted to re-do the wheel since they were pretty crusty. After wire brushing and sanding the steel wheel portion, went with the eastwood spray on rust encapsulator followed by the eastwood satin black wheel paint. This project took longer than I originally expected due to the amount of time it took to tape off the polished parts of the wheels. Using pinstriping tape for the task helped big-time (learned the hard way after the first wheel). After paint was done, just polished the silver parts and trim ring with aluminum polish. Bought a set of center cap logos off Ebay. The whole project cost about $75 or so. I think the end result was well worth the $$.
Oh yeah-the most important project so far was the installation of the dashboard tiki!!!!!

Thanks guys. The funny thing is I didn't think they looked that bad as they were. I was shocked at the difference when they were done.

I agree 67GTX, with a little time and the right product and tools you can make some nice improvements . I had a similar issue with my Edelbrock covers. The car had been sitting for some time outside and they were speckled with surface rust. A little chrome polish made a huge difference. In the case of the wheels, the trim rings were in very good shape, just had to be polished. The center "spines" and polished portion around the inside diameter of the wheels was also in good shape, they were just yellowed a bit. The steel wheel part was really the let down, they were all surface rust.
