rear drum interchange

Anyone know if you can put 11 by 2.5 inch drums and shoes on a rear end and axles setup for 11 by 2 inch? Possible issues with axle flange clearance? Any help would be appreciated!!

I believe that the backing plates determine the width of the shoes. To many axle sizes other wise. If so you will not be able to use the 2.5 drums unless you change the backing plate as well. Measure the backing plate to the axle flang where the drum seats and compare to your 2.5 drums.

There is really no reason to go to wider 11" rear drums. It is a direct bolt on, just use all of the matching hardware..
