To swap or not to swap old 318 for newer?

Hey all, this is my first post here, so please excuse me for I reek of new guy lol.

So long story short, I have an old dodge d700 (1967) with the original carbureted 318 in it. Havent checked yet if its a 4barrel or 2, just trying to get it to turn over at this point.

I have access to a dakota with a magnum 318.

Should I?

d700 is a 3ton dually. rear wheel drive only. 5 speed manual transmission with pto for dump hydralics.
