1964 Chrysler Windsor

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this form but i would like to see if anyone can assist me in finding out more information about my 1964 Chrysler Windsor. I am from Ontario and i understand that this model was built for the Canadian Market.

I can't find too much information online about this car but it seems that it was manufactured between 1961 and 1966 based off the Newport body style. I would like to know how many were built during that time and how rare they are?

When i contacted Chrysler historical to find out what information they had i was informed that the VIN that i provided was incorrect. The VIN number that is recorded on my ownership 030672718 and based on what information i have found online it should start with 814_ _ _ _ _ _ _. I would like some assistance in locating the VIN number off the frame or body, I have checked the obvious locations and the plate is not there. Do you know of any locations where I can look?

I did look at the engine block and saw that it reads 2205712 and I think it’s the B engine but I read that on the right side of the block so I don’t know if that is the correct number. I am assuming that it is a 361 based off this number but i would really like to find out the VIN number to see if this is the original engine.

It is a 1964 Chrysler Windsor and I understand they were built for the Canadian market, did they have a different VIN numbering system? Could my VIN number be an EXPORT vin number? Once again i called Chrysler and they were not much help.

Here is some information I found online “Although the Newport was called Windsor in Canada, the Canadian Windsor was upmarket of the Newport in that backup lights, Torqueflite and a number of other items were standard on the Windsor but optional on the Newport. Also, the Newport had a base interior seating package along with an optional choice. The Windsor used Newport’s optional interior as standard equipment. And, the wide side trim on the 1964 Windsor was based on the Saratoga 300 (300 in the U.S.) and not the narrow trim of the U.S. Newport.”
Thanks for any help you can provide.
