hey guys and gals,
im back after long time gone...ok i got a deal on a 68 charger but there is no fender tag and no vin tag under the windshield where its supposed to be, i got a number off of what looks like the radiator support beam b8x134460, i tried looking this up but got nowhere, btw im SURE this is a 68 charger lol its in my driveway, but anyone pls help i need this vin to try to get paperwork thanks alot as usual to all

 

I'm not 100% sure, but that sounds a little fishy to me. Anyways I don't know if this is universal for all mopars, but on the C-Bodies you can look on the radiator support (good start), in the door jambs, on the rear package tray supports, or somewhere in/around the trunk. I know that seems kind of vague, but it should be some solid places to look...

 

I'm not sure about NY here in Ca you would have to take the vehicle to the Highway Patrol dept and have them verify the Vin. Most likely they would attach a new state issued vin plate- no relation to the original Vin.. DO you currently have any paper work ?

trunk I believe is under the trunk seal rubber

 

it does sound fishy but the guy i got it off of traded for it, the guy he got it off of had it for 5 years, this thing is pretty rough and came out of the deep backwoods, im going to try and look in the trunk area under the seal both driver and passenger side and see if i have any luck...will post further details

I would contact your state DMV for advise.. You may not be able to get registration ????

 

i know that on my valiant it is on the front of drivers side door jamb

 

Dont think they started the under windshield tags until '70....Should be on door jam on drivers side.... Or an indication it HAD one there, in addition to the one you have found...
