1968 roadrunner dash vin number

I removed the dash board to send to powdercoater and misplaced/lost vin# that goes on dash board. I may have tossed in trash on mistake. I removed it 3 yrs ago and when I went to put dash back in I realized it is gone.Anyone have any ideas on what to do? Car should be ready to drive by early summer.

That sucks! I don't think there are too many options out there to get a replacement dash VIN plate. I have heard of people getting them made, but I have no idea where to start looking. Good luck.

Contact your state's Police or DMV. Most states have provisions for inspecting a car, then issuing a new VIN and plate that they will attach. Generally they will title it as a new car, so you would then have a 2011 rr. I don't know of anyone making replacement VINS, and I'm pretty sure it's not even legal to do so.

it will never be a Road runner again!

No just messing with you.The reproduction Vin tags are available, I have seen them advertised and yes they will look almost, I said almost like the original. Off hand I cant think of where I saw them advertised last, I would do a search on the net if that fails, contact the major mopar magazines for help. If I come across something I will let you know.
regards CD

Your best bet is the Police dept. The repo's ? I believe they need the old vin plate to verify info.. Maybe they can do it from your registration ?

I hope to find a repro or find the one I lost. Already spent a fortune restoring this car and I really do not want some tag on door jam or something like that.

The problem is that you may have to to be "legal." WHEN you sell the car, this could be a real can of worms. Do it legal, go through your local DMV. You might talk them into "certifying" a repop because of it's value.
