350
well a little burdie told me that a 350 with a turbo 400 will be better off than a 360 with 727 trans. Would that be even possible? Any insight would be great

ok
so you all are saying that a 360 w? 727 is better than 350. What kind of mods would i have to do? As far as i know the 360 should bolt up easy and the tranny with it it should be easy as pie. As for the 350 it was just spoken word and and i wanted feeback before i did something crazy like that.

I will forewarn you.... you will probably be castrated for talking about that kind of stuff here.
Better how though?
If you build a C&%$y 350 and a Dodge 360 (lets say 1970 motors) the exact same way with the specs as close as posible to eachother, I'd be willing to bet that the 350 will be cheaper overall. Only reason is because there are so many out there and such a high demand for them.
As far as which one to bolt up to a 727, hands down the 360 is easier because it came factory like that for years. Anytime you start to mix and match different manufacturers, the cost of that build will go up.

im a little lost. you where asking if the chevy set up is better than the mopar set up?
350/400
360/727
the 727 takes less hp from the wheels than the t400, also the 727 is a stronger tanny

ok
either
360/727
350/400
I know one is easier but which one should i be worried about fixing if it were to break. I just want to do this once and once only. i know everybody has there preference but just want some guidance.

It all depends on what its going in as to how hard or how easy the combo is. If it came with a 360/727 go with that. It would be a lot easier to do that than convert everything over. Mopar will cost you a little more than the chevy products.

To add to my quote.... I deal a lot more with chevys cuz my dad is a chevy man, i love the mopars though. I think the chevy is easier (cuz i deal a lot more with them then mopar stuff) and it is cheaper. Also if it did break its a lot easier and a lot less expensive to get parts just cuz there is so much chevy stuff that will interchange. But like is said before the converstion might be a problem. So it all depends you can get more horsepower in a chevy for about the same amount you can get less horsepower out of mopar.
P.S. Dont bash me cuz like i said i am a mopar fan, its just reality.

Regardless of the manufacturer, using the same basic parts, you will always have more HP from a larger Cubic inch engine than a smaller cubic in engine. Or you could be a belly button and use the 350/350, cause everyone's doing it.
Also, you might take into consideration an ad that Chrysler ran many many years ago... "Chrysler Motor Corporation would like to thank Ford and GM for using OUR engines in YOUR race cars". Of course they were talking about hemis, but it's all the same engineering.

Everyone needs to realize that Grant lives in his and only his "reality". J/k bro.
You can build the 360 and 727 to be very reliable and very strong at the same time. It all depends on if you are willing to put the money and time into them. Definitely a good choice going with the 360/727 though.
