Can someone please help me.... I am looking for the torque spec for a la 360 head rocker shaft retainer bolt. I am seeing 30ft-lb, and 17ft-lb on most of my internet searchers. The service book for my truck says 35ft-lb. I have tried to re-torque twice now to 30ft-lb and have broken 2 bolts so far. I really don't want to break anymore. Any help Please!!!

 

This site shows 15 lb/ft for grade 5.

Tight is tight to tight is broke... 30 ft. lbs..is a lot of torque on a 5/16 bolt... (maybe in. lbs.). 15 ft. lbs. sounds a lot closer if your talking about the rocker shaft...Bill
