440 build help!!

I recently picked up a 72 challenger in decent shape and want to add some snap under the hood. It has a weak 318 in it so that's going to be yoinked asap.

A buddy of mine gave me a 78 model 440 from a motor home, the engine and transmission only have 2800 original miles on it so it looks brand new in and out. I've heard these engines are low on compression and sort of whimpy? What can i do to this thing with out boring it out or milling the heads to raise the compression etc. I could buy new aluminum heads if needed just not sure which ones. It currently has the 452 heads on it.

I want to be in the 450hp + range. The reason i do not want to machine work is due to the fact it seems impossible to find a decent one around my area.

i think some motor homes have different heads. as CR, my dad had 65 300 L 413 HP stock CR 10.1 he overhauled it in 78. found out 413 motor homes had low CR. i think the motor home 413 was used in to the early 70s he found out the motor home pistons dropped to 7.5. i did check the CR. was the same weight, I.E. bolt in. so he had a 413 that ran on low octane. it did not seam to lose ANY power. the 440 might be the same as far as weight

Mine has the the 452 head on it. I jut finished tearing down the motor and it looks beautiful inside. I feel guilty taking apart the bottom end it looks brand new. I had a guy suggest i put some KB236 pistons to boost the compression up possibly. Any thoughts as if I should buy aluminum heads to go with it?
