440 power

I have a low compression 440 1973 im geussing the comp ratio is 8.5. I have a new set of 452 heads and a elderbrock performer rpm intake. engine is going into a 66 satellite. dont know the hp of the stock engine. But with out changing the pistons I would like to know what a good cam would be and with the intake cam and a good carb do you guys think this motor will smoke the tires or not. dont need to race just want to feel like the car can get down the road.thanks for any input.

HECK YES

Did the same thing you are doing with an old 413 motor home motor. Shaved the heads, used the stock four barrel intake, Mopar purple came (two up from the 6pack version). Put that thing in my 1967 Belvedere with 727 and a 3:23 sure grip watch out world. Even used the old 273 radiator without any issues. Used an AVS carb as well,

Thing is a beast -

Good luck and cool project - anything I can pass on, please let me know

Torque Monster.

Either way, even if you get that thing dialed in with the factory cam you'll be making around 400 ft.lbs plus of torque!! plenty to burn em' off !!
