68 C Body Fury lll

Can anyone tell me how to find the production date from the VIN #? Does the sequence number have anything to do with it"

Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom. Welcome to the forum.

I don't have the answer for you but would like the hear about your Fury. There are a few Fury owners here in the mix!

Somebody will come along with the information that you need!

68 Fury lll convert.

Thanks for the reply. The Fury is a red convert. original 318. I'm restoring it and have a doner 68 VIP with a good 440 tnt motor and tran. My Fury was restored by a hacker a few years back and it's being stripped down to bare metal and repaired with good metal and interior from the VIP. I will have many good spare parts.
Thanks again, Tom

I can't tell you how cuz I am not big on numbers but I know the information you are looking for is there. Maybe if you started a thread with (vin numbers?) in the title you might get more people looking at it. I don't know how many c-body fans there are, but I would guess there are quite a few folks out side the big car crowd, that know the vin number system. As well as option codes, build location, and such.

Seat covers are going to be after market like year one or some thing.
As for the front disc's your best bet is later model c-body donors and they are drying up fast. There are after market kits but I have not heard anything good about c-body offerings. You should try "c-bodydrydock" this site is c-body only and the folks are very knowledgeable and helpful. These subjects are often up on the boards.

The vin will not tell you the production date. That would be on the data plate on the driver inner fender well.

69 Plymouth Fury III (Sport Fury)

I purchased a C body out of Virginia with a title, however I am registering it in NC and the inspector states that my car was flagged because of the round rivets not flower rivets on the dash. In addition, I do have a vin plate on the radiator rail. Can anyone tell me where the "other" vin is located. He states that there should be a plate on the cowl above the voltage regulator and a plate in the trunk. However, in my research I did not think that they were located anywhere else but on the two locations.

I really need help so that I can get my car registered with the original vin as the inspector wants to give me a NC state issued vin. No GO!~!!!
