I too have a 69 Dart GT , but I haven't started the process yet of preparing the body for it's new look. Even though I won't be painting mine anytime soon, I have been wondering what to do for a paint scheme. As of right now, my mind is blank. I've had ideas in the past, one of which was to paint it in the colors of a gas flame from front to rear. That would be almost a white with just a tint of blue and progressing until it went to full blue as the natural gas flame does. The paints would all be metallic of course. But, that was just a thought. I will be pondering over the next year what to do. I will be taking mine a part very soon in preparation for the painting but that won't happen until its been sanded and primed completely. I am doing the whole car inside and out. I am also making it into a GTS clone with a 383 in it.

Somthing cool that you dont see is the wet look have you ever seen a muscle car that had been sprayed with water and then sealed so the beads of water are in the paint very nice if done right or whats kind of cool is black on black but very hard to keep clean there is also the rustic look fully restored but painted to look like a junker I think what ever you decide for the body will be great one thing i have always done to my older cars was i always set the bumpers back i fit them to the car better so theres less of a gap between the bumpers and the car
My Dad also has a '69 dart gt. We rebuilt a 400 with a 727 for it. I narrowed up a 9 1/4 3.55 suregrip for it. For paint we just went with factory forest green with a fiberglass six pack lift off hood. At some point we're going to put a white strip around the rear. I originally bought the car for myself but found a '67 barracuda notchback a month after i got it so he decided to get it.
