Brakes help

Hey all, new here to the forum. I have a 1965 Valiant 225 slant 6'er and I'm just getting into the running/driving part of my build. I need some help on the rear drum brakes and the hardware needed. I've searched all over the net for actual pictures of what it should look like after completion and I cant seem to find a good picture. Until I get the manual (who knows when that will deliver), I would so gladly appreciate any pics or information of the location, hardware, etc for the rear drum brakes. The passenger side has a self adjusting piece but the driver's doesn't. Is it supposed to? Spring clip locations (which holes) etc. ANY HELP would be appreciated. Thanks and God Bless. stoney

Both sides should look exactly the same, with the same hardware, except "the mirror image" of each other. You can download a free 66 manual over at MyMopar

Here:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/...p?p=1970088617

and at MyMopar

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=31

There's a 66 Dodge, but also a 65 Plymouth:

Most of the MyMopar manuals are IMproperly page numbered. That is, they show up consecutively in your viewer, instead of the "dash" original numbering system. I "just guess" at a page number and see where it lands. Let's guess 100 say it ends up on page 100 5-2. LOL!!!!!! Look at that. EXACTLY where we want to be, Chapter 5!!!! Back up one page and you are at the index!!!

I think I may be on my way to getting one downloaded. I thought that they needed to be exactly the same and mirrored, just didn't want to assume.

thanks for the info. I went back and measured inside hub to inside hub and they are 9 in. ordered everything I could fromadvance auto (they have online coupons that are great) and the shoes from NAPA. Will get started hopefull this weekend to get her back on the ground and the all the questions start...haha. I'm excited that there is somewhere for me to turn for my Valiant questions. I am also a member of another forum and they are typically "original and earlier years".

I did get the manual downloaded and it is great!!!! thanks for the info. I'll try to post some pics after I get Lazurus back on the ground.
