BUYING A 68 ROAD RUNNER WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR? MATCHING NUMBERS?
Hey guys I'm going to look at a 68 road runner with a 383 and 4spd. Seller claims it's original motor, drive train, and rear end. My question is what should I look for on this car? Typical problems? Is there an easy way to verify it's a matching numbers car? How can I tell if it's a true factory 4 spd? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Are you looking for a collector car or driver/street machine?
The VIN should give you a lot of information on the car's options and there are places on the web that can help you decipher it.
Personally, I'm not a collector or trader with cars, and matching numbers are pretty low on my list.
Check for the usual spots for rust (lower fender/quarter panels, around moldings); lines (is the car straight) and bondo. Bondo may not be a bad thing if the repair was done correctly.
Checking for leaks and listening to the motor both cold and hot are good ideas.
