can use help

was wondering if any one out there had put a 8.75 rear in an abody 65 cuda still using the 904 trans. was curious what the drive shaft measurement should be. i have one for the donor to be cut down just tryin to save down time and have one made before the rear goes in. any help would be great thanks guys

Full tank of gas and someone sitting in the car. Take the front slip yoke off of the driveshaft and slip it into the tranny all the way. Pull it back out one inch. Then measure from the center of the u-joint hole on the slip yoke to the center of the u-joint hole on the rear yoke. That's your length. Car must be sitting on the ground.

You really need to have the rear end in the car first. My builder wanted the distance from end of out put shaft in trans, to flat of u joint flange on the rear end. Then he added in what he needed. And it fit perfect. Check with your drive shaft builder first. And Bremerics method will also work. By the way, I found an A body 8 3/4 rear end if anyone needs one.
