the casting date for the block will be on the pass. side of the block right behind the motor mount bosss. be like 3 09 68. remembe rthat the model year started in early sept. through, end of aug. and the fender tag will have the cars build date on it . the casting date on the block will be before or no later then 5 days prior to the cars build date. If the block is like 7-15-68. then it was an early prod. 69 block. the vin numbers of the car should aslo be stamped into a flat space on the pass sid eof the block right above the pan rail. then the vin will also be stamped on a flat pad on the pas side of the trans at the very front above the pan also.

Mopar casting dates can be on either side of the block in the format mentioned above, also there will be a clock like looking thing with one or two pointers pointing to a time of day the block was cast, also there can be a D or an N denoting day shift/ night shift. Actual part #'s will be on the rail of the block just above the oil pan and/or on a boss close to the dizzy.
