Charger front fender 73 Vs 71 Question

Hey folks,

I'm having a devil of a time finding a new right front fender for my 73 Charger. Most of the ones I can find for sale seem almost as bad as the one I've got.

The long story short is, I found a website selling new fiberglass fenders for 71-72 Chargers. They claim that 71-72 had a slightly smaller wheel well opening, but that they'd still work on a 73.

I just wonder if anybody has any first hand experience with such a swap, and what problems (if any) to expect should I go through with it?

Considering I only need one fender, but I'd have to replace both if I go with these ones (so they'll match), I'd really like an idea of what I'm getting myself into. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

High -

Sorry, no personal experience, but anything can be made to fit.
With '71 fenders, you'll also need to modify the side light openings.

BTW - have you checked eBay or AMD for the 73/74 fenders.

The 71-72 Charger front fenders are different from the 73-74 fenders. The wheel openings are smaller on the 71-72. They will bolt on. There may be some slight differences in the headlight bucket areas(?), but the bumper should interchange.

On a related note, the doors are different from 71-72 and 73-74. They have a very different body line. I'm not sure if will bolt on, never tried that.
