Montpellier, Québec, Canada: Driver Chris Greenhouse and codriver Brian Johnson were back on top at Rallye Défi 2016 at the third round of the Canadian Rally Championship. The team led the 2WD class from start to finish and ended the rally in 4th overall. For Chris Greenhouse, this was his highest overall finish ever at a National-level rally in North America, which is remarkable given that he competes in a two-wheel-drive car against a field full of turbocharged all-wheel-drive cars.
"There was a lot of attrition at the front of the field this year," said Chris after the event. "A number of cars either went off or had mechanical problems, and this did a lot to improve our overall standing. Our goal here was to make up for a poor performance at Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs and to win the 2WD class, which we did. To finish as high as we did in the overall rankings was a wonderful bonus for our team."
The Cincinnati-based team joined forces with Platto Motorsports of Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Quebec who provided service and logistic support during the event. "We were especially happy with the performance of Platto Motorsports during the services. They were able to locate, diagnose and repair a number of problems during the event that could have been quite serious if unrepaired. This was a true team effort and I give many thanks to David Morrissette of Platto Motorsports. We look forward to working with his team in the future."
The team is now looking ahead to Rallye de Charlevoix in October, where they scored a very impressive 2WD win in 2015, which was punctuated last year with a 3rd-place overall finish.

Time for an onboard video:
This one is kind of a tough one because its a mixed surface of both asphalt and gravel. Great fun to drive, although it requires some compromise to be made in car setup. The stage following this one is all gravel, so we pretty much set the car up for gravel and accept that it will have some shortcomings on the asphalt.
and as one of buddies said to me "Jesus loves 2 kilometer straights"
