Crashed 69 Daytona, Hatfield PA?
Anyone know anything about a spring green Daytona that was crashed into a telephone pole in 78' in PA? I believe it was sold new from the 'Hatfield Reconditioning Centre??' and the orginal owner once crashed sold it to Ernie Palchanes in 79' then onto to Dave Patik. Anyone who knows anything about this car I'd love to hear from you. theseed83@hotmail.com
Follow the rumors Tim, and keep asking. There was a rumor of one here that had centered a telephone pole back in 71, the owner parked it, and never drove it again. I chased and chased it till I finally thought it was just a legend. One day in '86, I mentioned it to a guy at a junk yard, and he knew exactly where it was and took me to see it. No one was home at the no longer mobile trailer, but the lime green Superbird was sitting there. (At least I could see it's tail sticking out of the weeds. The car had thorny vines growing over, around, and THRU the quarters, ate up bad with rust, and the inside was a combination dog quarters/trash storage area. The car still wasn't for sale.
The next year I ran into a guy who did buy it, $10K, and it was essentially nothing but numbers by that point. (If I remember right, the engine/tranny was already sold.
