Drag racing log book software

Update: we now how a phone/table/laptop app that doesn't require internet access. It is called "RaceIQ". It's not free, but the cost is very low (less than $10). RaceIQ does all the logging that the site did, plus maintenance schedules and ET prediction.

For more info go to:
http://raceiq.net

RaceIQ Screenshots:

Home screen - your latest runs are listed here and you can view them by clicking them:

One Click DA - fetches DA from an online source. You can also enter weather station data if you would rather use that:

Maintenance - an example of some maintenance items I have setup:

Run Editor - where you will enter the data for your runs. Some data is pre-populated from your latest run so you don't have to re-enter everything every time, but you can change anything you want:

Run Listing - lists your runs and allows you to choose up to 7 to compare or predict ETs from:

<end update>

Already posted this on some Ford and Chevy sites, thought you guys would be interested too. This started out for my own use but I've decided to let anyone use it who wants to. Basically it's a site that lets you log all of your runs and then analyze them to determine how you are performing. It's simple for now but if reception is good I will continue development on it and add features. The site is 100% free to anyone who wants to use it, and sign up only takes a minute - http://www.RacersLog.net

The site is new so if you run into issues, have a comment, or would like to see some new features, please use the "Contact Us" page and let me know. I will implement any new features that are in high demand and can add fields to the entry screen relatively easily. For instance someone on another forum requested D/A calculations and now there is an automatic feature that will fetch the weather conditions at the track you were running and fill in humidity/temp/pressure and D/A (you can still enter your own values if you want, though).

It is also compatible with smart phones (iPhone, Android phones), so if you have cell coverage at your track you could enter data into the site immediately after a run.

First shot is of the "Performance Report". This is basically a report of your performance over a given time period. You pick a date range and the site generates the report based on your runs within that range. In addition to what is shown in the screenshot there are graphs on this page that show your 1/4MPH & ET and your 1/8MPH & ET over the date range (so you can tell if you are improving):

There are also custom graphs available. For instance, you could generate a graph that shows your 60' time relative to your 330' time. Or you could see how your times differed based on which lane you ran in. For example here is a graph showing how the back half MPH gain progressed through the range:

Here's another I think would be useful - it is the 60' time based on the launch RPMs (although the same RPM was used throughout the day on this graph):

Screen to enter run data (like I said more fields can be added if they are requested - already added shift points, and opponent interval times):

Mods - I apologize if this is out of place. I have posted this on a couple other forums and the users liked it, so figured I would post it here. Please delete this thread if you feel it is out of line.

Not bad... But I have not had time to study it... I'm racing this weekend at Mopar Southern Nationals will give it a shot and see what happens... Better opinion then... Mack

Sounds good, looking forward to hearing your thoughts. I've had some pretty good constructive criticism of it so far. The more of that I get the better the site will be.

It looks like a pretty cool thing..

But like me, alot of racers don't even use a log book. No race days are the same, and I just compare time slips to other of that day. Every track is different.. Sometimes you lift or hit the brakes..

Just my opinion.. I can see where it'd be helpful for alot of people though

Ya looks pretty good and I agree with you 68 gts so many diffrent factors involved, I think its more for good people like MReeves who has a race only car and stuff like Super Comp or Super Gas using ajustable throttle cables and stuff like that

Key -

That actually sounds kinda cool and adds a more "scientific" approach to figuring out what's going on. The problem for a lot of weekend warriors (at least back when I was racing) was collecting the data!

Due to some requests by users the following fields have been added and can be tracked on each run:

Timing
Carb. Jetting
Fuel Pressure
Length of Burnout (in seconds)
Injector Size
Duty Cycle

Thanks,
Zach

Yes I bracket race. I've raced at tracks in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Neveda, and California.

I can show you pics, videos, timeslips if you want

We have developed a phone app now, called RaceIQ.

RaceIQ features:
- Logging over 100 aspects of each and every run down the track
- ET Prediction - Two formulas are available. Both use DA and up to 7 of your previous runs (you choose the runs to use).
- One-Click DA feature which will retrieve current weather conditions based on your GPS location and calculate density altitude for you as well as automatically populate that information into runs
- Powerful reporting that allows you to visually see what changes are affecting your vehicle and how
- Allows the user to input their own weather data if they have a weather station
- Management of maintenance that can automatically tell you when different parts need to be replaced or checked. You choose when/how many runs an item should live through and RaceIQ keeps track and alerts you when you should examine the item.
- Side-by-Side run comparison for up to 7 runs allows you to see over 40 different aspects of the runs all on the same screen for easy comparison
- Segment/Interval times (i.e. 60-330, 330-1/8, etc...) are automatically calculated and displayed in graphs/reports/filters.
- Handles multiple vehicles, and you can specify which vehicle you want displayed on reports/graphs. Several users are logging runs of 4+ vehicles using one copy of RaceIQ.
- Automatic sea level correction on new runs which allows you to make an apples-to-apples comparison between runs which have different a DA.
- Provides 20 custom fields that you can label as anything you want
- Simple, easy to use interface
- Completely portable, does not require an internet connection for anything other than Density Altitude lookup and Backup/Restore.
- Allows users to download their data and import it into other programs
- Gives users the ability to backup their data online

There is simply no other program like RaceIQ.

Some actual quotes from users:
"This is the app of my dreams"
"The best app I have downloaded"
"A must have for all serious drag racers"
"My favorite app"

To install it on your PC go here (extra instructions are on http://raceiq.net for PC/Laptop installs):

Android phone and tablet users go here:

iPhone and iPad users go here:

Yes it IS a cool thing, BUT as you stated its not going to be for everyone. Not to de-grade/be-little you, but a bracket racer is not normally worried about all the variables ( I know I wasnt ) All a bracket racer wants is to beat the guy next to them with out beating themselves (a break-out). But someone that is dead serious on racing, whether index/class racing, it will be a great data logger for comparison from run to run and or changes made to car...

If it was for everyone my name would be Bill Gates

It's funny you say that about bracket racers though, seems I sell a lot to them.

Different strokes for different folks I guess!

I bracket race, I race divisionals, i race bracket finals.

I'm pretty serious on my racing. But to me, it takes the fun out. By comparing my time slips, I can pretty much accurately guess what my car will run.

I don't need to buy software to tell me what it'll run - usually that stuff fails.I've beat plenty of guys who rely on technology to help them dial in and then their 5 hundreths or more off.

Time slips and watching the temperature and humidity is the key to any drag racing.

I've won many races in the years I've been racing. In my Dart, and in my 18 second Volkswagen (Its even a stick!)

Ps: I have well over 1000 time slips...

Just my opinion.
