Engine Shield? found in driveway!

Found a part in my driveway that appears to have fallen off my 2006 Chrysler 300. It is plastic like material with the following words molded into it's surface: "remove when servicing engine". It's size is about 2 feet by 2 feet with various mounting holes, some of which are broken out. I assume this is some sort of under body shield. What is its function, and since it does not seem to effect the vehicles performance, does it have to be replaced?

It wouldn't affect performance. But it could be an air-deflector, or a debris shield.

Probably hit one too many dips. Probably a shied to keep water and derbs off of the engine - esp the belt .

Shield

Sounds like the shield they remove to access the oil filt6er and such. I just had my entire shield replaced on my 2007 SRT Charger - about $325 worth. I would take it to the dealer, somethimes they can put it back on with minimal cost. Good luck, their a PITA - (Dealer and shield)
