Getting back to the 72
Hey guys i haven't been around the forums in a while but im finally making some headway on the 72 charger project. I have got the the engine bay mostly cleaned out and am finally getting all of my paint and body done. Im hoping to be driving it again by April. I decided on white with semi-flat black front grill and taillight panels with the black rally stripe that starts in front of the windshield and wraps around to the rear of the side of the quarter panels. I also decided to have the side marker lights shaved off of the car because they really seam to disrupt the lines of the car as they stuck out so much. Im going to keep my OEM style wheels up front and i have yet to decide on what rear wheels i want but i know i like mismatched front/rear wheels. My goal for the project is not a show car its going to rack up a lot of miles just like it did before. Below are pictures of the fist paint on the car (underside of hood.) and the driver side body work. There was some bondo in the rear and we knocked out as much as we could get away with. Its been a budget job and the guy doing the vast majority of the body work is a retired body guy my dad has been friends with since high school. Anyways enjoy the photos i just wanted to share my Mopar.
