No. That's exactly how it came from the factory. These cars didn't have an interior top lining.

Wheels are next. I think I'm going with 15" Magnums.

14" steel wheels with hub caps. I have the hubcaps but the plastic center inserts are a PITA to restore.

I would like to but I don't think I can restore the hub cap inserts to a quality that would do the car justice. Besides, it's getting harder and harder to find 14" tires with the correct width white wall. I think the Magnum 500's would look great on the car and at 15" I won't have to worry about tires in the future. This car will be driven quite a bit and won't been a trailer queen. I think the Magnums are a good compromise being as they are technically stock, just not for '65.

I've looked for the past two and a half years. All of the '65 300 hubcaps I have come across have the paint flaking off the plastic inserts or the plastic inserts are cracked. The back side of the inserts were painted and it appears the factory used some sort of silvering process on them (in addition to the paint) to give the appearance of chrome. It's a multi-layered process. I'm not sure I want to spend the hours or $$$ to restore them. If I did and one flew off while I was driving I would go through the roof. Can you put 14" hubcaps on 15" wheels?

I know what you are saying. That's why I decided on the Magnums. It will look stock appearing eventhough it won't be "correct".
