grand caravan window wont go up..HELP

ok I should have posted this in the minivan section but I thought more people would see it here...

I have a 2000 Grand Caravan sport. A few weeks ago, the airbag dummy light started randomly coming on...then the brakes dummy light started coming on..no big deal, but then last week we noticed the horn no longer works, and today, my wife rolled down the drivers power window, and it won't go back up! Of course, this happened right after I left the house for a week long work trip.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the window back up, or what the bigger problem is here? I can't have her at home all week with a window that's down. I guess maybe some computer module is going bad, but I thought I would ask the good folks on here.

PLEASE HELP!!! thanks

-Cory

I had this happen on my wife's 98. It was the controller in the door. It only affected the driver's side. Sounds like you may have some interesting gremlins also.

there is a recall out for those year minivans also for teh clockspring in the steering wheel. A dead give away that it's one of your problems is the fact that the horn doesn't work and the airbag light is off.

as for the window, it could be the switch or regulator.

ok thanks...so I guess the window problem is unrelated. Good to know.

So if I take it to a Dodge dealer, they should fix the horn/airbag light problem for free?

Do you think the brakes dummy light is related to this in any way?

the brake light could mean low fluid or there is an ABS problem.

The dealership will only replace the clockspring for free if the vehicle has a certain code when it is over 70,000 miles (i think). if there is under that then they just replace it. It all depends on if the recall applies to your van. not all van's got the recall.

thanks for the help!! I called the dealership, and yep, it was the clockspring and they fixed it for free even though my van has 110,000 miles. they said it was a lifetime recall item.

also, yes, the brake fluid was low. i filled it up, and, presto, no more brake dummy light.

and the window seems fine to me, i think my wife may have just imagined that. she makes things up sometimes.

van is good as new. thanks again.
