4006630-360-7 is the casting number on my motor! i only came across 4006630 as a 440cid! what do i have?

 

There will be a machined pad facing up on the block right behind were the water pump goes and it will be stamped 440 if you hava 440. The distributor will also be in the front. If there is no machined surface and the distributor is in the back you have a small block most likely a 360 as that is in the casting number you gave above. Small bocks are stamped on the block just below the drivers cylinder head.

by any chance do know what year 360 it is?

 

The date code should be stamped on the block below the drivers cyl head. there will be a letter for instance E=1969 F=1970
