Just bought a '71 Barracuda, need some info.
Hey guys I just bought a '71 Barracuda last night. I bought it to sell it though... Anyways I got an extra steering column with the car and was wondering if it will work in my 68 coronet? My coronet is column shift and I was going to convert it over to floor shift, just thought I would check before I let the column go. Didn't know if E body columns and B body columns were the same or not. And I'm going to do a bit of work on the barracuda and put it on ebay I will let you guys know when I do. Don't have any pictures of it, but it is a complete car, only cancerous rust is a spot about 2 and 1/2 inches long and a 1/4 inch wide where the rear window sits. Other than that its just got light surface rust. Also the quarter panels have gotten banged up at one point but nothing that can't be smoothed out, I'm going to smooth most of it out before I let it go, and the fenders need a bit of smoothing as well. We were going to start the car around 7,000 or 8,000. Also it has a 400 in it with a 727 behind it, and I also got a 383 thats going to go with it if it is date coded for it, which brings me to my next question where is the date stamped at on a 383?

I know it'll be on the block, I just don't know where at on the block. I've looked it over pretty good and it has been painted a couple of times and got rust building up in most places that are bare. I know its got casting numbers on the side of the block, but isn't the actual date stamped into it somewhere? If so where at on the block is it usually found? That way I know where to start cleaning the paint or rust off of it to find it.
