? how to remove shifter
How do I remove this shifter so I can pull engine and transmission? Don't want to jump all in doing without advice and have the whole thing tore apart. I also think it is missing the PIVOT BOLT BRIDGE PLATE. And I have removed the bolt that runs across from each side looking like it would go through the bottom of the handle but handle still doesn't come out.

Administrator with a large ban hammer !
That little tab sticking out of the left side of the mount is the spring clip, the feeler gauge should work well, I have always just used the push/pull method without any issues (some are more stubborn than others)

I took the whole thing out...made it a lot easier to pull motor and tranny
I labeled the linkages Left, Right and Center before removing them...I took lots of pictures underneath so that I could come back to them and not be a big dummy when putting it back together...I can take another pic...tonight that will show you what bolt to take out

You're making this way way waaayyyyyy to much of a head banger. You've already made "the step" but you almost can NOT get that put together wrong.
Don't you have a shop manual? See here: Download one fer free:

Only difference between the picture below and yours is that yours is an overdrive. 3/4 gear (front) lever is upside down in the OD application

The linkage may have minor differences over the years but it works exactly the same.
