? how to remove shifter

How do I remove this shifter so I can pull engine and transmission? Don't want to jump all in doing without advice and have the whole thing tore apart. I also think it is missing the PIVOT BOLT BRIDGE PLATE. And I have removed the bolt that runs across from each side looking like it would go through the bottom of the handle but handle still doesn't come out.

That method didn't quite work. Did come across a subject about a shifter in a ford where you have to slide a feeler gauge down the side of handle. Supposed to be a clip in there somewhere. Will try that tomorrow see what happens.

Yes, slip a gauge down the side and it should release a clip. That's what I had to do on mine.

That little tab sticking out of the left side of the mount is the spring clip, the feeler gauge should work well, I have always just used the push/pull method without any issues (some are more stubborn than others)

I took the whole thing out...made it a lot easier to pull motor and tranny

I labeled the linkages Left, Right and Center before removing them...I took lots of pictures underneath so that I could come back to them and not be a big dummy when putting it back together...I can take another pic...tonight that will show you what bolt to take out

You're making this way way waaayyyyyy to much of a head banger. You've already made "the step" but you almost can NOT get that put together wrong.

Don't you have a shop manual? See here: Download one fer free:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/...al%2C+download

Only difference between the picture below and yours is that yours is an overdrive. 3/4 gear (front) lever is upside down in the OD application

Listen, I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to the guy who asked the question. The picture I posted WORKS EXACTLY THE SAME AS ANY OTHER Mopar A833 shifter except for the OD which has the front lever upside down. The pictures you posted is an OD unit.

The linkage may have minor differences over the years but it works exactly the same.

Will removed the shift assembly no big deal. Just didn't know how that shift handle came out. Now on to the fun part pulling trans. and engine out.
