Welcome to the forum!

What do you have for a carb and as for the glass, a local glass company may be able to help you out, craigslist/local junk yard and then there is always e-bay.

Ill get some pics up soon. I dont have the car at my house yet. Im gonna trailer it home tommorow. Can someone give me an idea how much a basic paintjob would cost? It has little to no rust and needs no bodywork.

depends on the person doing it and what/how you want it to look. Maco will do a $500 job and it could look like a $500 job. I would shop around and see what places give you for a price. You may want to actually take your car to the shops and have them give you a quote as the shop will be able to give you a better price in person than just over the phone.

I'd pay around $2000 to $3000 for a good quailty paint job and warrenty.

welcome to the forums
i would do what 78 says and give the old girl a good paint job instead of a maco job, the car will be happy you did and there are alot of body shops that would love to paint it for you but pick a good reputable shop and always ask them questions on how they are going to go about it. Pick the one you feel comfortable with as the out come will pay itself off with the looks you will get

If there is not enough zinc in your oil you will end up wiping your cam.

since our cars are flat tapper lifters, (unless you put a roller cam in), our cars need the zinc in the oil. Without it, the lifters will self-destruct, wipe out the cam, lifters, and bearings in the engine. The zinc protects the lifters when the cam hits them.

Well I got my ride home today. Ill post pics later. I have run into a problem though. When i was starting the car I turned the key twice on accident and it made a bad sound. I tried to restart the car and now it jst makes a clicking sound. It had a kinda weak battery to start with. I dont know if thats the problem or did i mess up the starter?

What size motor are you running?

I actually use deisel oil in my amc 360. Helps keep the cam alive.

Is castrol GTX 10w-30 a good oil to use? Also I have a carb question. When I start the car, after a couple of secs. It starts overflowing through a hole on the top. Also black soot comes out of the tail pipe so I think its running really rich. I checked the floats and its not them so why would it be flooding and how do I adjust the carb. so it dosent run so rich?

I did notice the single barrel in the carb, but really didn't look at the distributor. I only know big blocks.

sgp i do not know that much about the GTX oils but check to make sure it has at least 1000ppm of zinc you can go to there web site and find out but the HM valvoline oils has alot of additives for the high mileage engines and so on , i have done alot of research on the oil and talked to alot of reps and have always used there products but im sure the GTX oils are fine but i would look into it and as far as your carb it sounds like it is over flooding the bowl so i would get some cleaner like gunk in the gallon can and would soak it for about twenty min: (yes it has to be off the engine ) and try it again and turn the screw in all the way but not to much pressure as you can damage the tip of the needle and turn it out about 2.5 turns and start it then go from there but if you need help further just always ask as one of us will sure be able to help you so good luck and let us no k
