On The News Today

Did anyone see the news today where they had an auction in Nebraska? It was all cars from the 50s 60s and 70s from a Chevrolet Dealer that went out of business and these cars where sitting in a field some with no miles on them with the factory plastic still on the seats. They showed a truck with 1 mile on it.. The cars looked dirty and some surface rust but the interiors were perfect...Bill

It's been around. But the one's stored inside looked pretty good. The ones outside had a lot of rust issues

Well I now understand why there were so many vehicles at the auction with low miles on them... They either had tranportation damage or were cars that parts were robbed off from to fix another (Rob Peter to pay Paul) The Cameo that sold for 140K had the roof smashed in and windshield broken like trans damage.. nowadays that would go to a training center/ school and the Vin would be distroyed...Bill Here is a link to the story...http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...on/?refer=news

The storage building had a roof cave in doing damage to the vehicles. BUT $43K for a Covair ??? I would bet there are some people kicking themselves when they get home

All I can Say....Is those folks are Car Crazy.....
For me that Cameo would have been a $200.00 dollar truck at this point....
This guys going to have at best $20,000.00 tide up in fixing that POS. And the resale is only around 60,000.00 at best... So I think hes going to be stiffed for 80,000.00 grand, after all the hip is over and done with.....

Crazy people spend crazy money...They even said they got the most money of any junk yard auction ,and the Lambrecht 's are laughing all the way to the bank. Has anyone heard what the final dollar amount was for the whole auction??? Bill
