NHRA drag racing 10-5-14

BIG Q to bob. i saw the alcohol cars spray something in the intake before running. but the nitro cars dont. what are spraying in the intake?

De-icer, I believe? Keeps the butterflies from freezing full shut?

WD40/de icer alcohol makes the intake charge so cold the butterfly's freeze

good to know. last winter i carried a spray bottle of methanol to knock down a light frost, on the wind shield. worked good, but not on a layer of ice.
