Old hat for some.....

But I thought some might appreciate some pictures of our current project.

My son and I are going to rebuild the carb Saturday morning and here is some pictures of where we are at now.

What more wholesome thing to do than rebuild a carb on a Saturday morning with your son? That is very cool, good luck to you both on that project!

Wonderful way to spend some quality time with your son... Plus you get the added advantage of a re-built carb....

Thanks guys, I am really looking forward to telling the boy (young man) everything I don't know about this project

I will post some "as we go pics" after the truck is actually running again.

Well that could not have turned any better!
My son stayed with me for a whole six hours without one complaint, he's 14 years old.

We started around 9:00am and had the truck on the road washed and waxed by 3:00pm. I am very proud of my son today!

And the icing on the cake is the truck runs great, no more miss when I punch it down. The carb was filthy with carbon in the primaries and the floats were way off. But other than that it looked in pretty good shape.

And as it goes with me, I thought about taking pictures just about the same time the last screw was turned, but oh well I know you guys have see the inside of a carb before

Joe.

Way to go Barfly! It sounds like it was one of those perfect days your son (and you) will always remember.

Sgt, you're a character aren't you you're families names are classic, I love it!!

Thanks for the thoughts fella's.
My son is a good kid, but I've had my hands full this year prying him away from the computer and getting some grease under his nails but today was a big step in the right direction.

I can't tell you all how much I appreciate all the help I've been getting here.

Now that the engine runs well and is looking to be reliable we'll be moving onto body work.... oh boy

Joe.
