policeman stopped me

i am driving my 01 dak V6 auto, 4.1 gear posi it is heavy. 0-60 in 12 sec. he comes up to truck and says. "was you trying to out run me?" i said " if i was trying to out run you i would not use this truck." a 12 sec truck trying to out run a cop? LOL

I had that happen to me back in the 70's Stupid cop said I was trying to run ?? was doing under 30mph in a 35 zone, Got A ticket for loud pipes.. A BB with glass packs full manual TF

I out ran the Cops one day, he was coming in the opposite direction on a four lane highway (2 in each direction) I was going over 100 mph. He had his lights on before he was even able to turn around in the next turn-around. I was just going to pull over and wait for him but I said to myself Im screwed anyway so I just punched it and went for it. I lost him. Put the car in the garage and was scared to drive it for a long time. So it was a worse punishment then if I stopped. Because I loved to drive that car.. 72 Charger with a built 340 T/A sixpack. It was a screamer and loved to eat big blocks...Bill

the 70 340 T/A engine is a very interesting engine. if you look at the size of the cam in that engine for the amount of power and how fast the T/A car was, thats some very good engineering.

the 340 is just the best sb around thats why. i out run the alot theres lots if quick turn ofs and side roads to hit with your headlights off

I Built the motor up from the stock 340. It had 2.02" in.valves and 1.60" ex. I put the purple shaft 484 lift 280* duration centerline of 110* advanced the cam 4*. 11.5:1 pistons .30 off the heads .10 off the decks. triple grind valve job Bosses were milled to except triple valve springs, titanium retainers & keepers. The engine had 4 bolt mains, steel crank, a windage tray ect. stock.. A 780cfm bench flowed to 830 TRC Holley performance carburator. Torker intake and volocity stack into a six pack hood scoop. There was alot more stuff but just the normal upgrades. Headers,Ign.fuel pump ect... It loved 110 octane fuel and ran 11.9 in the quarter mile at 120. The thing that sucks is I sold the car for $1800 when the times got tough figured I didnt want to live in the car with my wife and kids so I had to sell it...Bill
