Possible steering problem?

Hey guys....I find that the steering wheel on my dart is never straight when i'm cruising straight down the road, its always off to the right. Its been like this since I bought it last summer, and I had an alignment not too long ago, and it didn't change. I checked the front brakes, they don't stick, the only thing is the front tires are a bit feathered around the outer edges. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sounds like the guy who did the alignment didn't take the steering wheel position into account. They usually forget that part and I'm kind of stickler for that, so I remind them. You might be able to fix it yourself, if you're comfy playing with the tie-rods adjustments.

if theres feathering around the tire the alignment is still off.. or worn shocks. if you adjust your torshion bars it will need re aligned also.

Cant properly align the car if all suspension components arent in good shape. Try another shop for a thorough inspection before an alignment. A worn lower control arm rubber bushing is all it takes to throw it off. Sure, it will align on the rack, but it will deflect on the road under load. Thats just one thing.

ASSUMING all components are in good shape. AND the toe is CORRECTLY set. The centering of the steering wheel is accomplished by adjusting one tie rod in, and the opposite one out, an EQUAL number of turns. I'm guessing the tie rods are to the rear of the spindle. Since your wheel is off to the right, you would start by lengthening your left rod, and shortening the right rod. One or two threads at a time will make a big difference, so go slow.
