Hey I am back at work and gonna order a new Gear box for the 68 Coronet...Mine is leaking pretty bad, Has any one tryed to rebuild one and which rebuild gasket kit do I get or should I just get a reconditioned one for $150.00?
And Can you take it off with out taking out the 440 down through the bottom? I know their is 3 bolts but I cant remember how much room I have...

Personally I would just get the rebuilt. I did my Coronet when the engine was out.. My guess take the starter out and the ex manifold remove from the top ??? may need to take the column loose

That's what I was thinking but the Headers are a Pain to come out through the top and will not come off through the bottom, I gonna try to get it out through the bottom.

Headers will have to come out and steering linkage and the motor will have to be jacked up...It is a pain in the azz to do if not on a lift....To bad it would of been a piece of cake when you had the motor out...Didn't you put the zipper on the motor when you had all the oil leaking problems...Lol...Bill

Be careful many divorces have happened because of guys and there toys...If your relationship is strong then dont worry about it...There is nothing hotter then a woman that jumps right in an helps with the car and not afraid to get dirty...And then can clean up and go out to dinner and turn heads as she walks in the restaurant...Now that is a dream girl...Bill

I hear you..I am lucky to where she does not mind I work on it...She likes the idea that I have somthing to do during the winter and stay home a lot...She helps me time to time when the boys are in school and they cant help.During the summer she likes to take the 5th wheel out all the time so as long as we go out with the kids camping and Mountain biking she is a happy momma...
