Registration and Taxes on Restored Car?

Hey all,

Anyone have any experiences with registering a car that has not been for a number of years? I'm in Iowa, wondering what I'll run into when going to get plates and tags. Are back taxes owed on cars that are 40 years old and have not been registered for awhile or what's the story.

Thanks!

the only thing i found around here is that they got to enter all the info in to the computer and search for records that can take awile. if they dont find anything then you got to wait 24 hrs for them to update the regerstration that was like 10 yrs ago so it mite be faster now? as far as fees just plates and tabs is all never back taxes. if you dont tab it (drive) they cannot charge you rd tax.
